FAQs
-
Do you require vaccination records?
Yes, we’re required by PA law to keep updated records of rabies vaccinations for each pet we service.
-
How long will grooming take?
Generally, grooming takes about an hour and a half to three hours. It depends on the size/breed of your dog, condition of coat, and what the type of haircut requested. We can give you a more accurate estimate when you drop off your pet.
-
Do you use crates?
Yes, we use crates because our #1 priority is your pet's safety. We believe crating keeps pets safe from potential hazards (ie: escaping a busy shop, confrontations between dogs, trip hazards, etc.). Crates keep pets within visibility of the groomers and separate from each other. We do our best to limit the time your pet is in a crate, for example, we operate by appointment times. If you prefer your pet not be in a crate for any duration, we recommend mobile grooming services.
-
Why do you use cage dryers?
We find pets that are weary of hand dryers might prefer the quieter and more passive air-flow from a cage dryer. We’ll always do what is best for your pet, as we want grooming to be a positive experience for them. We only use cool-air cage dryers for safety, and your pet is always supervised.
-
Do you express anal glands?
No, because dog’s anal glands generally don’t need to be expressed, unless there is a problem. If you have concerns about your pet’s anal glands, we recommend visiting your vet.
-
How does drop-off and pick-up work?
We ask that you drop off your pet at the time of your appointment. If you’re running late, please call. We’ll do our best to accommodate, as we understand unexpected circumstances may arise. However, we may ask you to reschedule if you’re more than 15 minutes late and we’re very busy, to keep things running smoothly and ensure we’re providing a low-stress environment for the pets.
We’ll call you about 15 minutes before your pet is ready. Please do your best to pick up within a half-hour after they’re ready.
We have a dedicated parking space for client drop off and pick up, accessible on Hastings Ave. If that spot is occupied, free parking is usually available on Hastings Ave, and there are metered spots on Darby Rd.
